Gale Force Petroleum’s Board of Directors is composed of 5 members, each individually elected annually. The 5 members bring complementing strengths, with an abundance of technical, engineering, entrepreneurial and capital markets experience. The Board of Directors are:
Michael McLellan – CFA, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Mr. McLellan has over ten years of finance and general business management experience. He has worked in derivative markets operations with Deutsche Bank in London in 2001; helping to set up the financial systems for the ministries of the new Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2002; as an internal wholesaler and sales analyst with Pioneer Investments at its international head office in Paris, France in 2002 and 2003; contributed to the roll out of financial markets information systems with Reuters at CIBC Wood Gundy in Canada in 2004, and has built financial models for and provided advice to several engineering, manufacturing and governmental companies and organisations globally at various times between 1999 and 2005. In 2005, Mr. McLellan became GFP’s CFO until September of 2007, at which time he was asked by GFP’s Board to assume the position of GFP’s President and CEO to orchestrate a restructuring, which has since been his principal occupation.
Ruben Alba – Director, Chairman of Reserves Committee, Chief of Deal Sourcing & Analysis
Mr. Alba received his Chemical Engineering Degree from New Mexico State University and has worked in the oil and gas industry for over 13 years with Halliburton Energy Services and Superior Well Services. He has an intelligent, energetic and unique approach to complex reservoir problems involving geochemistry, geomechanics, surface logistics and environmental concerns. Ruben has introduced new and novel technologies involving new fluid chemistry as well as completion processes to reservoirs requiring cutting edge technology. Ruben now works with Iromad, a specialized, technical oil and gas consultancy. Prior to joining Iromad, Ruben worked in the management of technical and laboratory staff in both Halliburton Energy Services and Superior Well Service. He holds three patents in unique completion technologies and is adept to the challenges of unconventional reservoirs.
Guillaume Dumas, L.L.B. – Director, Chairman of Audit Committee and Corporate Secretary
Mr. Dumas is member of the Québec bar and has over fifteen years experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and asset-based lending. Mr. Dumas manages various investment funds and is a partner of Primatlantis, a boutique asset-based lender.
Robert Johnson - Director and Member of the Audit and Reserves Committees
Robert Johnson is an accomplished executive and entrepreneur with experience in the technology and oil and gas sectors. In 1996 Robert took over control of Sundance Digital, a software company in the television and media space. Over the course of the next 10 years he and his team grew it to be one of the largest providers of software in that sector and then successfully navigated the sale of the company to Avid Technology (NASDAQ:AVID) in 2006. After the sale of that company, Robert led a small group in the acquisition of an oilfield services company and multiple oil and gas properties in East Texas, which were subsequently acquired by the Company. Robert is currently the CEO of TeamSupport.com, a software company focusing on the customer support sector, and is also a General Partner in Chenango Capital, an early stage Venture Capital Fund.
Charles Marleau – Director, Member of the Audit and Reserves Committees
Mr. Marleau is President and Co-Founder of Palos Management, where he is responsible for managing and trading the investment funds and supervising the administration of the fund. Charles graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and completed the Canadian Investment Manager designation. He serves on the Board of Directors of numerous private companies, a private school and a Canadian public company. Charles is also a member of the Institutional Equity Traders Association, Montreal University Club, Montreal Oil Club and the Young Entrepreneurs Organization.
