20080915_board-member-lemire-resigns-enMontreal, September 15, 2008 – Gale Force Petroleum Inc. (TSX-V: GFP) today announced the resignation of Louis-Robert Lemire from its Board of Directors, effective immediately. 

Mr. Lemire’s resignation follows the Autorité des Marchés Financiers’ recent decision to initiate an inquiry into some of Mr. Lemire’s trading activities.  Mr. Lemire stated that his decision to resign was taken in the sole interest of the Corporation, so as to not interfere in the continued development of its business and to disassociate the Corporation from such an inquiry.  

“The resignation was in no way related to the Corporation’s operational performance, financial condition or quality of assets,” said Jocelyn Boucher, Chairman of the Board of Directors.  “The Corporation and its Board of Directors have been and will continue to be committed to good corporate governance.“

“Louis-Robert has made a big contribution to the Corporation as a member of the Board, notably through his efforts to help the Corporation execute its turnaround,” he said.  “Despite this, the Board of Directors accepted Mr. Lemire’s resignation.”

As a result of this resignation, the Corporation is reducing its Board of Directors from 6 members to 5, including 3 independent directors.
